Quoting Robert Johnsons' book - We, The Psychology of Love, he wrote " We have learned that romantic love draws a huge power system within the unconscious, an energy so great that we can only speak of it in the language of religion or mysticism"
It is so easy for us humans to mistake romance for love, lust for love, and trauma bonding for love. When, on the other hand, a truly divine union transcends our lower aspects of sexual expression or just emotional love or passion, but we have been conditioned. And, here we are trying to live our soul's life through other people (a romantic partner), and that is a HUGE sacrifice because that intimate connection that we so eagerly desire is an intimate relationship, it is the connection we crave to have with our OWN soul, our being, our essence, God itself, our higher self. Therefore, when we meet someone from that place of our inner wisdom, we create a higher union, where there is no artificial intensity, we connect essence to essence, heart to heart. The divine union feels so right that there is no hesitation, or anxiety (butterflies or shaky hands ), and there is a sense of trust and certainty, no agitation. We are in this together because we are best for each other to be in this together. And, as the quote says, " It is an energy so great that we can only speak of it in the language mysticism" because it sounds so out of the ordinary amazing. After all, that is what love is.
